Let’s make an all-natural essential oil blend for shoulder pain that offers FAST relief!
Here’s a list of things your shoulders can help you do:

But maybe the heaviest thing that our shoulders carry for us is . . . tension.
Shoulder pain and tension can prevent you from doing anything else on that list—or even from comfortably turning your head from side to side!
I’m going to teach you to make an essential oil blend for shoulder pain that soothes sore muscles by calming inflammation, bringing more circulation and release to the area, and creating a feeling of flowing, relaxed movement in those once-tense muscles.
This essential oil blend is made in a base of Trauma Oil—that’s a combination of THREE herbs infused in a carrier oil (like olive oil). The herbs are arnica, St. John’s wort, and calendula. You can read more about Trauma Oil here.
If you like, you can give pure Trauma Oil a try for your shoulder pain. Even without adding the essential oil blend, Trauma Oil offers so much relief for sore muscles!
The essential oils in this blend for shoulder pain are . . .
Peppermint essential oil – Peppermint helps tight, tense muscles relax and move more easily, and its famous cooling touch feels so good to sore, painful areas!
Ginger essential oil – Ginger’s touch is warm, offering a contrast to the cool of Peppermint. But these two essential oils have a lot in common, too. Like Peppermint, Ginger helps encourage circulation and calm inflammation. A great friend when you have muscle cramps!
Lavender essential oil – Lavender is an old favorite for relieving many kinds of pain, and it has a gentle touch on skin, too. That’s why I’m including more drops of Lavender in this blend than of Peppermint or Ginger.
Ready for the recipe?
“Shrug Off the Tension” Blend for Shoulder Pain
- 1 oz (30 ml) Trauma Oil
- 9 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
- 5 drops Peppermint essential oil (Mentha × piperita)
- 4 drops Ginger essential oil (Zingiber officinale)
Make this blend in a 1 oz (30 ml) glass bottle.
Combine the Trauma Oil and essential oils, shake gently, and you’re done!
Get a small amount in your palm (about the size of a small coin), and massage it into your sore, achy, tense, inflexible, unrelaxed shoulders and neck . . . and pay attention for when all of that discomfort turns around.
Move your shoulders slowly and gently while using this blend, and use it as needed.
