A Great Essential Oil to Blend with Lavender for Sore Muscles After a Workout
Lavender essential oil had not exercised in a few weeks.
And when Lavender started exercising again, it felt so good to get back in the swing of those healthy habits!
Lavender felt vibrant, energized, strong, and full of vital, enthusiastic energy for life!
. . . Until it got sore muscles after a workout.
So Lavender called its friend Juniper essential oil and said, “Uugghhh . . .”
Juniper likes to exercise every day, and knew exactly what the problem was. It said, “Lavender, I’m on my way! Stay right there.”
Juniper came over and massaged Lavender’s sore muscles with its favorite blend of essential oils in a bit of jojoba. The combination of massage and pain-relieving essential oils helped Lavender’s muscles release tightness, cramps, and tension.
Juniper said, “Lavender, next time you can prevent sore muscles by using this blend before the pain even sets in.”
Lavender was grateful to have that tip!
Here’s the blend that Juniper made for Lavender, which you can use for your own sore muscles after a workout.
Juniper & Lavender for Sore Muscles After a Workout
- 1 oz (30 ml) jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis)
- 10 drops Juniper Berry essential oil (Juniperus communis)
- 8 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
Make this blend in a 1 oz (30 ml) glass bottle. Combine the jojoba and essential oils, and shake gently.
Then use it to massage your sore muscles after a workout!
Juniper Berry and Lavender essential oils are both incredible choices for pain relief.
They have mastered the art of naturally calming inflammation, and helping tense, cramped muscles relax, so your movements feel like they can flow more smoothly and naturally.
In fact, Juniper Berry essential oil is so effective for this, that I often include it in blends to soothe joint pain—such as in fingers or knees.
And Lavender adds a gentle, skin-loving presence to this blend.
When I use essential oils for my sore muscles, I like to spend a little time in self massage. The essential oils themselves are so therapeutic, and when we combine them with the healing power of touch the relief can affect us even more deeply.
